The Milk & Honey story:

I am a mother of five young children, and we are expecting another baby in July 2013! Since the early years of family life, I have been drawn to products that grow as we do.

When my son was 8 months old, he was the only one in our home who did not sleep nestled under the year-round comfort of a down blanket. He slept in standard sleep sacks purchased from a well-known baby store. These seemed like a good combination of safety, warmth and softness for an active baby. However, he outgrew one every few months, and the Velcro closures did not hold up well through multiple washes.

I marveled at the thought of my baby contentedly snuggled in the softness of a down sleep sack that would stand the test of time. After several experiments with sketching and producing an original pattern, I successfully created a sleep sack with goose down fill, which was originally known as the “Snuggle Down”. I made several for family and friends, and progressively improved the product in aesthetics and function.

At the end of 2010, I began to offer the same design of the Snuggle Down in a variety of unfilled fabrics and weights. The product was renamed the Baby Snap Sack® to encompass both the down-filled version and unfilled versions. I also began working with other local seamstresses to help with parts of the production process.
